The binders that I have come to trust the most are all made by one company: CellCore. Their binders have the ability to bind to toxins, support healing at the cellular level, and they can be taken with or without food. In the information that follows, I am generally speaking about the binders I use in my practice. There are other binders out there, but I have found the three I will speak of later to be the most effective and safe.

WHAT ARE BINDERS?

In supporting the natural detoxification processes of the body, binders are products that are utilized to “bind” onto toxins that have made their way into the body or are produced by the body in response to toxins. Many binders, like activated charcoal, can be helpful, but I like the additional benefits of the binders made by CellCore, which also support the body with energy production and support the body’s natural ability to heal.

WHY I USE BINDERS

I use binders mainly because they are one of the best tools I know of to help the body reduce a toxic load. Binders help bind to toxic agents so that they can be eliminated from the body. That said, not all binders are created equal. Just like not all oils are equal. We learned that seed oils, like corn oil and canola oil, are highly toxic, but coconut oil and good-quality olive oil are very beneficial to the body. See article here. The binders I use have been shown to bind to specific toxins in addition to supporting the body’s ability to produce the energy needed to get the toxins out. As I mentioned earlier, unlike other binders, the binders I use can be taken with food or without food.

WHAT BINDERS DO I USE?

The main binders that I use are listed below. I also use a few other binders, but for the sake of simplicity, I am going to share the main three that I use. I use these far more often than any other binders. For most situations, they seem to do the trick. I have come to trust their effectiveness.

BIOTOXIN BINDER

The first binder that is often used is called Biotoxin Binder. This binder is made to help the body clear itself of biological toxins, such as various types of bacteria and metabolites created in response to toxins that the body is trying to get out. By supporting the body to remove these toxins with a binder such as Biotoxin Binder, more energy can be freed up by the body to perform its many functions.

HMET BINDER

HMET Binder is the binder I typically use for heavy metals and some environmental toxins as well. I personally had toxic metals like mercury that I was trying to remove from my brain and body. HMET played an important role in this process. I did experience some headaches during the detox. I could tell it was working “up there.”

VIRADCHEM BINDER

ViRadChem Binder is a broad-spectrum binder. It has some of the ingredients found in both HMET and Biotoxin Binder. It can be helpful for general use or it could be used long term to help prevent a variety of toxins from building up in the body.

WHEN TO CONSIDER USE OF BINDERS

Whenever I am not feeling well, I consider which binder or which combination of binders would be the most helpful. I’ve often taken Biotoxin Binder along with HMET or ViRadChem. If you are not feeling well, again, it’s important to receive guidance from a trained practitioner.

If you take medications, it is wise to consult with your licensed health professional prior to using binders. Generally speaking, binders should be taken a couple hours away from any medications.

If you are allergic to any ingredients in the products, or if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, doing detox programs and using binders is contraindicated. The time to do the detox work is prior to you wanting to or planning to become pregnant, not during a pregnancy or when nursing.

There may be other contraindications in addition to what I have listed. Check with your health care provider to see if the binders are right for you.

HOW TO USE BINDERS

Generally, people do well by starting with a lower dose of binders. Perhaps just one a day to start with at breakfast or supper. You can work up to taking two in the morning and two in the evening. Children may even take less than one capsule a day in water. (The capsules can be opened and taken in clean, pure water.) In acute situations, I would likely take more capsules at a time. But I would only do this under the supervision of a practitioner. Remember to consult with your licensed health professional prior to using any products.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN USING BINDERS

As with all things, each person’s experience is different. Some people report not really feeling anything. Others may experience headaches, bloating, gassiness, and/or fatigue. People often report darker colored stools when taking binders. Sometimes an odor indicating that toxins are being removed is noticed when urinating or with bowel movements. These binders are supporting your body’s natural ability to detox, so there will likely be something that you will notice if you have not used binders before. The binders that I use are generally well-tolerated by people. However, if you notice any unsettling symptoms, you need to reach out to your practitioner right away.
